BAR STAR, Fundy Fringe Festival (Saint John NB) 2018
Come raise a glass at Drunk Franny’s wake!
Franny McCabe-Bennett, writer and performer of last year’s Fringe hit SMASHES is back, premiering a brand new show in Canada’s oldest city.
A new solo show about getting drunk and getting sober in your 20s,
BAR STAR is a comedic celebration and dramatic reenactment of the life and death of "Drunk Franny". Winner of last year’s Performer’s Choice Award, acclaimed comedian and actor Franny McCabe-Bennett invites you to help her say goodbye to a dear frenemy.
This new storytelling show will feature songs and stories that Drunk Franny loved, toasts and rants from some of her nearest and dearest (all played by Franny McCabe-Bennett), and a eulogy that will shed some light on her short life and mysterious death. This show examines serious subject matter in the light-hearted, engaging way that Franny is known for - a dark comedy with a light heart!
BAR STAR will be performed nightly at the Five and Dime (40 Grannan Lane) where audience members are welcome to buy a drink before the show. There will be one sober space performance at the Sanctuary Theatre for underage audiences and audience members who may have already said goodbye to their own drunk selves.
